I first discovered Noodles & Company a few years ago when I was visiting my sister Wyn in Omaha, Nebraska.
Admittedly, I was instantly addicted -- my favorite? Penne Rosa, easy on the spice.
The bummer was, though, that the only time I could enjoy Noodles is when I would venture out to Omaha (not always the easiest travel destination from Sacramento!).
Then I heard that Noodles & Company was coming to The Fountains at Roseville and I immediately emailed my sister with shouts of joy! Today, in fact, is their OPENING DAY!!
Not only does Noodles have good food, they do good things for the community. In fact, on June 30th, they're hosting a benefit for the Roseville Firefighters Assocation where 100% of the sales will be donated. That's pretty darned cool!
So if you haven't tried Noodles, go soon! But, definitely go on June 30th from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. -- not only will you nourish your body, but by doing so, you'll help the community. But I warn you...you might get addicted to!
Please bring in the flyer (you can print out this blog I would think) or mention this fundraiser.

P.S. My birthday is this weekend and I'm off to Omaha to see Wyn. My birthday dinner request? Noodles in Omaha, of course.

Early Toast Now Serves Dinner!
We're excited to announce that Early Toast in Folsom is now open for dinner!
My husband and I went in this evening on a "market research" trip (again, it's a tough job but someone's got to do it!).
Along with my step-daughter Caitie and her husband Bronte, I admit that we overindulged in some yumminess (yes, it's a technical term -- just go with me here, ok?).
On our market research list for tonight: potato skins, mushroom bowl with garlic bread, fish and chips, teriyaki burger, chicken quesadilla, tuna melt and, to finish, some incredibly delicious dessert that I just cannot remember the name of.
While we were there, we got to watch the final minutes of the NBA finals on one of their three big screens!
Look for their ad in our July issue of Style-Folsom El Dorado Hills Magazine -- it offers $5 off your bill of $20 or more, Monday through Friday!
And, check out their Kids Eat Free Special all day Wednesdays (one child with each paying adult). It's a great way to try out their new evening menu!

City of Roseville's Project Play
Since we're on the topic of universally accessible playgrounds...we're proud to support The City of Roseville's Project Play!
Also partnering with Shane's Inspiration, The City of Roseville has planned three universally accessible playgrounds; one for Mahany, Maidu, and Royer Parks. Roseville is undertaking a fundraising drive to raise $1.2 million to make these dreams come true. This funding will be combined with City resources to achieve the $2.2 million necessary to design, build, and maintain the playgrounds.
On Thursday June 25, 2009 at 4 p.m., you're invited to the dedication of Project Play's first universally accessible playground at Mahany Park!
To find out more about Project Play, log on to The City of Roseville's Web site: http://www.roseville.ca.us/parks/universally_accessible_playgrounds.asp or contact the project manager Jeff Dubchansky, Assistant Parks & Recreation Director at (916) 774-5245 or by email at jdubchansky@roseville.ca.us.
Please help us support these wonderful gems for our communities!
