El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity Raffles Playhouses

The El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity is holding an open house at Habitat's ReStore on December 20 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. At this open house, the organization will be raffling off two unique playhouses: one built for a girl and the other for a boy. These playhouses are 6' by 8' and were built by Habitat volunteers using materials from the Habitat ReStore with additional building materials donated. The construction was organized by El Dorado County realtor, Sally Long Johns and her family.

Habitat's ReStore is located at 6168 Pleasant Valley Rd. in El Dorado -- the raffle will take place at 3PM. Refreshments, food, music and a visit from Santa are all part of Habitat for Humanity's Holiday celebration.

Raffle tickets for the playhouses are now being sold for $5 each with only 1,000 tickets being sold. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.shop.edchabitat.com/ or over the phone by calling 530-621-2111.

Tickets can also be purchases at the Habitat ReStore, Coldwell Banker Realty in El Dorado Hills, or the Coldwell Banker Realty office in Placerville.

Proceeds from the raffle will help to fund a five million dollar building project that will break ground in January of 2010 on 5 acres near El Dorado and will also include a small lot for a project in Cameron Park to build low-income houses in partnership with future homeowners.

Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has built more than 300,000 houses, providing shelter for more than 1 million people in nearly 90 countries around the world. A new Habitat house is completed somewhere in the world every 21 minutes.

Habitat for Humanity of El Dorado County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, nondenominational faith based housing organization. Habitat welcomes all people to build simple, decent, affordable houses with those who lack adequate
shelter.
