Inside-Out Evolution at the Blue Line Gallery

Cocktail Party by Gerald Heffernon, Acrylic on canvas, 64 x 48 inches
Forty paintings by Northern California artist Gerald Heffernon will be featured in the exhibit, “Inside-Out Evolution,” opening January 16, 2010, at the Blue Line Gallery in Roseville.

“This is a show of the evolution of my paintings which often deal with the subject of evolution, humans juxtaposed with animals, and humans as animals,” said Heffernon. Roughly half of the paintings in the exhibit are recent works, the other half painted over the past ten years. They range from purely figurative to abstract.

“Inside-Out Evolution” will open with a public reception on Saturday, January 16, 6:30-9:00 p.m. The artist will present a special walk through of the exhibit beginning at 6:00 p.m. before the reception. The show will continue in the gallery through February 13.

Artwork is for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the non-profit gallery. Free children’s art activities related to animals will be presented in the gallery on Saturdays, 1-4pm during the exhibit.
