Operation Gobble Program Donates Turkeys to the Food Bank of El Dorado County

Senator Ted Gaines (R-Rocklin), Assemblywoman Beth Gaines (R-Rocklin), Golden State Water Company and California American Water teamed up as part of the 23rd annual “Operation Gobble” program this Thanksgiving, providing 50 fresh turkeys to the Food Bank of El Dorado County!

This comes just in time as the Food Bank will feed more than 1,000 at-risk families this holiday season.  “I’m so proud to be associated with this annual event that fills such an important need within our community,” said Senator Gaines.

“Operation Gobble is an important community partnership that helps bring together a local business with some of the most supportive non-profits in my district,” said Assemblywoman Beth Gaines.

“California American Water and Golden State Water are proud to partner with the Gaines’ on this event,” said California American Water External Affairs Manager Evan Jacobs. “Operation Gobble is an opportunity for our local employees to give back to our customers, our neighbors and our families.”

This year, your local Food Bank is busy planning and working with the community to reach out to this struggling population.

“We are delighted to once again participate in Operation Gobble and are grateful for the continued support during the holidays,” said Food Bank Founder and Executive Director Mike Sproull.

Food Bank Communications and Development Director, Carey Fong, urges individuals and businesses in El Dorado County to contact her at the Food Bank to express how we can work together this holiday season.  “The Food Bank will provide over 1,000 holiday food baskets to our at-risk population on Friday, December 20th, and Saturday, December 21st, at our new building located at 4450 Business Drive in Cameron Park.  Together we can make a difference,” Fong says.

The Food Bank of El Dorado County is one of the most efficient and effective charities in El Dorado County.  Aside from its ability to provide a five to one return for our donor’s dollar, volunteers and community support are the main reasons for the Food Bank’s success.

Contributions can be mailed to the Food Bank of El Dorado County at 3291 B Coach Lane, Cameron Park, CA 95682 or online at foodbankedc.org or by calling Carey Fong at 530-621-9950.
