Celebrate the Sacramento Zoo's 85th Birthday at the Official Celebration!

WHAT’S HAPPENING: The Sacramento Zoo will be celebrating the 28th Annual Ice Cream Safari with a birthday twist–cake! Birthday Cake and Ice Cream Safari will include all-you-can-eat Baskin Robbins ice cream and a special celebration for the Zoo’s 85th Birthday.
 
WHERE: Sacramento Zoo, near the corner of Land Park Drive and Sutterville Road in William Land Park.

WHEN: Saturday, July 28th, 4 to 8p.m. Cake-cutting ceremony with local dignitaries will be at 5p.m. on the Reptile House Lawn.

Celebrate the Sacramento Zoo’s 85th birthday while devouring 10 flavors of all-you-can-eat Baskin Robbins ice cream in a cup, cone or float. Don’t forget to venture over to the Reptile House Lawn at 5p.m. to sing happy birthday to the Zoo and enjoy some cake. Guests at the cake-cutting ceremony will include Councilmember Rob Fong, Miss Sacramento County Julianna Johnson and Humpty Dumpty from Fairytale Town.

Have a brain-freezing good time with delicious all-you-can-eat ice cream, all-you-can-drink Coca-Cola soft drinks, popsicles, face painting and live entertainment by the Hipwaiders.  Additional food and raffle tickets will be available for purchase.

Zoo volunteers are prepared to scoop nearly 1,000 gallons of ice cream in 10 different flavors at this one-of-a-kind ice cream extravaganza! See what flavor awaits as you stroll through the Zoo discovering old friends and new residents.

Advanced tickets for this popular fundraiser are $17 for general admission and $13 for children (2-11); children one and under are free. Purchase your tickets at the door the day of the event; $20 for adults; $15 children (2-11).  Tickets will be available at the Zoo, online at saczoo.org or at 916-808-5888. All proceeds benefit the Sacramento Zoo.

Open since 1927, the Sacramento Zoo is home to more than 500 native, rare and endangered animals and is one of over 200 accredited institutions of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.  Located near the corner of Land Park Drive and Sutterville Road in William Land Park, the Zoo is wholly managed by the non-profit Sacramento Zoological Society.  This Sacramento treasure inspires conservation awareness through education and recreation.
