2012 Great Sierra River Cleanup in El Dorado County

On Saturday, September 15, the El Dorado County & Georgetown Divide Resource Conservation Districts, American River Conservancy and California Conservation Corps will partner with the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and California Coastal Commission to host the 4th annual Great Sierra River Cleanup at seven sites along the South Fork American and Cosumnes Rivers.

Both rivers have great ecological and recreational importance to El Dorado County and its surrounding communities, and they are pleased to invite the public to help participate in this stewardship event.

The Great Sierra River Cleanup is held in conjunction with the California Coastal Cleanup, and together these events make up the largest single-day volunteer event in California. After the cleanup, they will invite all of the volunteers to meet for a volunteer appreciation barbeque and celebration.

This is an all-ages event, perfect for families and community groups. Volunteers must register to participate. Registration forms can be found at eldoradorcd.org . Additional information about the Great Sierra River Cleanup can be found at sierranevada.ca.gov/rivercleanup.
