Cowboys and Cornbread July 21st

Drive up, hitch up or giddy-up! It’s time for Cowboys and Cornbread, a day-long celebration of old-fashioned fun, food and friendly competition at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in  Placerville.

The event kicks off at 11a.m. on July 21st with Smokin’ for Gold Kansas City BBQ Competition with tasting, Chili Cook Off, Ranch Sorting Competition, Cornbread and Salsa Competition and Cowboy Church. 

There's live entertainment all day, Chuckwagon BBQ, free stage coach rides, cowboy poetry, candle making, gold panning, blacksmith demos, calvary exhibition and non-stop carry' on all day.

Buckaroos can get a hands-on taste of the cowboy life at the kiddy corral.  Don’t forget about Mutton Bustin where young cowboys and cowgirls ride sheep for fame and glory!

This regional event brings together some of the areas finest musicians of the mouth harp to vie for cash, prizes and the best bragging rights around. Cheer on your favorite musician at the Hangtown Harmonica Championship.  Try your hand at the Hangtown Horseshoe Tournament.  Wet your whistle with suds, wine or moonshine.
