Living History: Women's History Day in Old Sacramento March 29th

In honor of “Women’s History Month,” the Historic Old Sacramento Foundation is proud to present a special Living History event.

Women’s History Day events will take place throughout Old Sacramento State Historic Park on Saturday, March 29.  Dressed in 19th century period attire, men and women will show how men’s and especially women’s fashion has changed throughout the decades.

Living History re-enactors will showcase their hand-made historic attire from the 1850s, 60s, 70s and 80s.

The origins of “Women’s History Month” as a national celebration date back to 1981 when Congress identified a week in March as “Women’s History Week.”  In 1995, the celebration was expanded to the entire month and the tradition continues.
