April Events At Maidu Museum & Historic Site

Here are some exciting April events happening at Maidu Museum and Historic Site!

Campfire: Friday, April 18 from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Sit under the stars at our outdoor amphitheater to enjoy native stories around the campfire. We’ll provide roasting sticks and marshmallows for a sweet program’s end. Museum doors open at 7 p.m. Free admission if you show your Roseville Public Library card. $5 per person, $16 family of four, under 2 are FREE.

Night Out at the Museum: Join Maidu Museum Saturday, April 19, from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. for a FREE Night Out at the Museum, part of the 3rd Saturday Art Walk. Meet Native American filmmakers Wallace Murray and Tim Campbell. They will be showing the award winning film, A Grandmother’s Prayer, a documentary featuring Native American basket weaver Julia Parker. Museum doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cultural program starts at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be available.

Yomen: A Spring Celebration: Sunday, April 27, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. FREE EVENT. Celebrate and experience California Indian culture at our biggest event of the year! Spend the day with your family and enjoy the opening blessing, tribal dance groups, traditional art and craft demonstrations, native storytelling, hourly guided tours of the historic site, and live animals on display. Children's activities include flute and bracelet making, petroglyph rubbings, soapstone carving and acorn grinding. Shop at the vendor booths and don’t forget the Indian tacos and other foods available for sale.
