BIG DoG At Big Day Of Giving Kick-Off Event May 6

Get ready! The Big Day of Giving starts Tuesday!!!


WHAT:
Nearly three dozen non-profits will gather to celebrate and promote the Big Day of Giving on Tuesday, May 6 at Westfield Galleria at Roseville.

The BIG Day of Giving (BIGDoG) is a regional 24 hour online giving challenge to raise funds in support of the vital work of non-profit organizations in Placer, Sacramento and Yolo Counties.The BIGDoG Challenge to the community is to raise $1 million during the 24 hour giving cycle, which will begin at midnight and run through 11:59 p.m. May 6.

Every donation made on the BIGDoG website, givelocalnow.org, will be matched, on a prorated basis, from a pool of $300,000 in matching funds and prize monies, thereby leveraging the community’s gifts to make an even greater impact.
       
The kick-off event will start with “Waking up with the BIG DoG” mascot at 5:30 a.m. to set-up for the non-profit resource fair which opens to the community at 10 a.m. Community members will be able meet non-profit representatives, learn about and donate in support of the local non-profit of their choice.

Kick-off festivities include live entertainment featuring the talents of local non-profit performing arts and entertainment groups, the BIG DoG mascot, giveaways and incentives from local organizations, and a chance to win a Westfield shopping spree.

Wake Up with Big Dog Event Kick-Off – 5:30 a.m.
Non-Profit Resource and Information Fair – 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: Center Court in the Westfield Galleria at Roseville (adjacent to JC Penney)

COST: The kick-off event is free; however, we encourage everyone to make a contribution to the charity of their choice!
