Ride The Parkway June 7th

Please join cycling enthusiasts as riders prepare for the 11th Annual Ride the Parkway (formerly the Rex Ride) scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 7th.

All proceeds from Ride the Parkway benefit the American River Parkway Foundation. The Ride the Parkway is a great event for cyclists of all levels.

You do not have to be a century rider to enjoy the beautiful 60 mile course along the American River Parkway – you can cycle as little or as much as you please!

Check-in at William Pond Park and make sure your bike is ready to go at Kinetic Cycles’ service station. Pause to refuel at the Discovery Park and Hazel Avenue rest stops before returning to William Pond Park for the post-Ride party.

At the completion of the event you will be treated to a fabulous meal catered by O’Connor’s Santa Maria Grill, beverages by New Belgium, Rubicon and Two Rivers Cider Co., and yummy treats from Hagen’s. Enjoy fabulous entertainment by “Flies in the Kitchen” featuring Vince DiFiore from CAKE on the trumpet as you explore vendor booths from The Bicycle Business, Bike Pros USA, Sac State Peak Adventures and Cycle In.

You will also have the chance to participate in a raffle to win prizes from local bike shops and restaurants. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m.and the post-Ride festivities start at 11:30 a.m.

New this year--you can register day of but the fee goes up! The cost to participate is $100 per person and on race day the fee is $150.

Proceeds from Ride the Parkway benefit the American River Parkway Foundation. All proceeds from this year’s event are earmarked for restoration of the land that was burned through arson fires in 2013. The American River Parkway Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to support the preservation and enjoyment of the American River Parkway by fostering environmental education, stewardship and volunteer opportunities.
