Sierra Wildlife Rescue's Winter/Spring Wildlife Classes

Sierra Wildlife classes in February will begin with “Introduction to Local Wildlife,” on Saturday, February 8, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The class, targeted to the general public, will give you an overview of the natural histories of most species SWR rehabs in El Dorado County.  If you become interested in rehabbing, you can follow up with classes on specific species, beginning in February and taught by experienced rehabbers.

For prospective rehabbers, “Rehabbing Baby Skunks,” 10 a.m. - noon and “Rehabbing Squirrels,” 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., will both be held on February 22.  Classes on other species will be held throughout March and April.

All classes are held at SWR’s Wildlife Center, 3030 Newtown Rd, Placerville and are free to SWR Members; a $5 donation is requested from the general public. Parking is limited, so please make reservations well in advance with Barbara at 530-621-2650, or at barbaraewing@cal.net.  If you register for a class and can’t attend, please let us know as soon as possible, since there is always a waiting list.

Join them and learn more about Sierra Wildlife Rescue and the wonderful ways in which you can help the wild animals of El Dorado County! For more information about SWR, please visit sierrawildliferescue.org.
