Benefit For El Dorado County School Woodworking Programs

On Monday, April 7th, The Society of Woodheads Only (SOWHO!), spearheaded by Jim Von Tellrop, Jr., will gather once again at Powell's Steamer Company in Placerville to raise funds for the woodworking classes at five local high schools.

Celebrating its 10th year, this lively event features an array of generously donated auction items displayed amongst the student's superbly crafted wood products. Using donated materials and auction proceeds, the classes are funded, adding to the skill level and creativity of our local students.

"Last year approximately $3000 was raised and the goal for this year is set even higher. We would love to double that figure and with the public's help, we can do it!", said Von Tellrop.

This year's grand prize is a hot tub/spa and tickets are available through Jim Von Tellrop at (530) 409-4070; Tim Clausen at (916) 212-8791; Jack Jordan at (530) 409-6033; Don Cochran at (530) 409-7291; and, Sheila at Powell’s Steamer Co., (530) 626-1091.

On Monday, April 7th, from 5 to 8p.m., enjoy live music By BluesMan Randy Carey & Special Guests. Event Sponsored by The Society of Wood Heads Only and the Hardwood Lumber Distributors of the Greater Sacramento Area.

"The SOWHO event could not happen without the hard work and generosity of many individuals and businesses, and we thank you for your continued support, and they've been doing so for 10 years...that's unbelievable," Von Tellrop expressed.

For more information or to donate materials and funds, contact Jim Von Tellrop at 530-621-4767. SOWHO is a 501(C)3 Non-Profit Organization.
