The Pink Floyd Experience! Live In Concert March 23 At The Harris Center

Two years ago the music of Pink Floyd filled the Harris Center for the Arts to capacity audiences. This year’s The Pink Floyd Experience! is complete with a dazzling new light show, giant screen HD Video, full quadraphonic sound and six brilliant musicians dedicated to bringing you the most authentic Floyd experience possible, it’s “a must-see for any Pink Floyd enthusiast!” (C-News, Northampton, MA).

The music of Pink Floyd is more than simply an echo of days past. Pink Floyd continues to gain new fans. Nearly 1,000,000 Pink Floyd catalog albums are sold each year worldwide. On average, more than 8,000 copies of “Dark Side Of The Moon” are scanned each week in the U.S. alone, and “Wish You Were Here” and “The Wall” are also stalwarts on the Billboard Top Pop Catalog chart. Since the band's contemporary fans have long since replaced, or added to, their vinyl Pink Floyd collections with CD versions, clearly new generations are discovering the intense, cinematic, epic rock of Pink Floyd.

Without question, Pink Floyd remains one of the most influential rock bands of all time. Their record-breaking status is legendary. Today, years since their last live performance, Pink Floyd’s appeal continues and spans the generations. Their shows were described as theatrical with mind-blowing lights and unsurpassed sound. The show is not only onstage…it engulfs the audience!  In keeping with this tradition, The Pink Floyd Experience! is a full-on sensory assault   This is the show for the ultimate Floyd Fan, and it gets closer to the true Pink Floyd concert experience every year!

In this two-hour show, performed with over $2.5 million worth of production equipment on stage, The Pink Floyd Experience! should come with a warning for potential “retinal damage.” But fans won’t turn their heads away as the massive light show and HD projection brings the show right onto their laps. Even the icons that Pink Floyd have made their own – from the blinking eye to the marching hammers – have all been translated into clever hooks along the ride. Imagine your hair literally swept up by the helicopter that introduces their next song.

Hear the cash registers in “Money” or the clocks in Time run around the room in full quadraphonic sound. And not to leave the fans wanting for more, the show finishes with a 12-foot long Pig blimp that flies over the audience and balconies in final homage to Pink Floyd’s most familiar image! There’s much, much more from the classic airplane crash to floating eyeballs in the crowd...but we better leave a few surprises for the actual show!

The Pink Floyd Experience will take place on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 2 & 7 p.m. Tickets are $39-$59; Premium $69. Tickets are available online at harriscenter.net or from Harris Center Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 from 10 a.m to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and two hours before show time.
