That’s What “Carissa’s Friends” Are For

For four years in a row, the Folsom team “Carissa’s Friends” has participated in the annual Light the Night Walk dedicated to raise funds for cancer survivors around the country.

In honor and support of Carissa Lane, her friends formed this team to help find a cure and better treatments for blood cancers. Team members will also have their annual lemonade stand...with more than just something cold to drink – this year the girls will also have jewelry, gently used items, books and baked goods, all for sale to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

There are lots of ways that you can help too! You can stop by the team’s lemonade stand on September 7, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., on Silberhorn Drive between S. Lexington and Fayette in Folsom.

Or, you can click here to make your donation or join the team in the walk, which is on September 26 at the State Capitol.

For more information about the walk, visit lightthenight.org.
