Attention Volunteers!

If you are looking for a chance to volunteer this summer, the El Dorado County Department of Human Services could really use assistance during visitation hours between parents and children. The visitation process is provided for children receiving reunification services.

It allows them to maintain relationships in a safe environment while the process is taking place. Visitation hours range from one to four hours. Experience is helpful but not mandatory to volunteer. Training is provided by the social services staff.

Segway Polo in Folsom

What could be more summertime appropriate than a polo match? From June 17-19, Folsom will be hosting the world championship of Segway Polo, the Woz Cup Challenge, comprised of teams from Germany, Austria, Sweden, Barbados, the bay area and Folsom at the Prairie City Stadium at Folsom High School.

Should be a great chance to watch some serious segway action and support Folsom at the same time.

Lot's of local celebs will be there to catch all the play too. Expected are Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple Computer) after whom the championship game is named, Emmy award-winning writer Victor Miller, Paul Robins (anchor of Fox 40 Live) and others.

Tomorrow Night: Concerts in the Park!

Tomorrow night is the kick off for Rocklin's great free series, Evenings in the Park. The Journey tribute band Departure will be playing for the June 10 night.

The concerts are such a fabulous way to relax with friends and family and even enjoy a little picnic too!

WHERE: Johnson-Springview Park, 5480 Fifth Street.
TIME: 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Community Stage

COST: Free!
