Both teams and individuals can compete in divisions from “Junior” to “Iron Person” in a number of age ranges. Participants run 5.82 miles, cycle 12.5 miles and paddle boats 6.35 miles on a racecourse located on and along the American River Parkway in Sacramento and Rancho Cordova.
Also continuing this year is the US Bank Kids Duathlon, a 2-mile run and 5.75-mile bike ride that provides kids with their own event.
Start Times:
Eppie’s Great Race- 8 a.m. (Begins at William Pond Recreation Area)
US Bank Kids Duathlon- 10 a.m. (Begins near the Guy West bridge at CSUS)
Post-Race Party held at River Bend Park, Rancho Cordova (formerly Goethe Park)
Where: Begins at William Pond Recreation Area- 8 a.m.: From Hwy. 50 exit Watt Avenue North, turn right on Fair Oaks Blvd., right on Arden Way to the park. From Capital City Freeway, exit Arden Way East and stay on Arden Way to William Pond Recreation Area.
Run-to-Bike Transition- around 8:30 a.m.: East end of the Guy West Bridge off University Ave., across from CSUS
Bike-to-Boat Transition-around 8:55 a.m.: Located at Lower Sunrise Parking Lot and Footbridge- Hwy. 50 East, exit Sunrise, turn left over the freeway, right on S. Bridge Dr. (toward American River Raft Rentals), turn left at the kiosk and drive about ½ mile to the parking lot.
Finish- around 9:30 a.m. River Bend Park, Rancho Cordova (formerly Goethe Park) From Hwy. 50 heading east, take the Bradshaw exit. Turn right on Folsom Blvd., then left onto Rod Beaudry Drive. Cross bike trail and pass overflow lot. Take first left into main parking lot)
