Music for Hope Concert!

This isn't your typical battle of the bands. Instead of competing against each other, students from Oakmont, Antelope, Laguna Creek and Granite Bay high schools will be striking up the band for the 13th annual Music for Hope benefit concert. And we at Style love some band tunes, especially when the occasion is to raise funds for a worthy cause.

At the event all the proceeds from ticket sales and donations will be donated to ALS and the American Cancer Society.

The first Music for Hope concert was held in the spring of 2000 to benefit the ALS Association in honor of a volunteer band mom, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 1999. In the years following, several other band parents were diagnosed with cancer, and this annual benefit grew to include fundraising for the American Cancer Society as well. The bands celebrate the legacy of these courageous and inspiring individuals each year with the coming together of local school bands to share an evening of symphonic arrangements. To date, the Music for Hope concert has raised over $35,000 in support of these charities. Now that deserves some cymbal clashing!

Tickets to the Music for Hope concert event will be available at the door the night of the event for a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children and seniors.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 14
WHERE:  Granite Bay High School, 1 Grizzly Way, Granite Bay
TIME: 7 p.m.
