The hip-hop symphony and jazz performance is making its way to our Capital region. It's also landing at our brand spanking new theater complex, Three Stages in Folsom.
Fresh from performances at the Newport Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival (Hollywood Bowl), and the Monterey Jazz Festival, The Jazz Mafia —featuring some of the top jazz players on the West Coast—will offer a world debut of their new symphony, "The Emperor Norton Suite."
The really cool part about this performance? This will be the first time that all the spaces in the Three Stages will be used simultaneously.
The Jazz Mafia Symphony will also perform excerpts of their critically acclaimed hip-hop symphony "Brass, Bows & Beats". Following the symphony, there will be an after party in the Stage Two City Studio with a performance from the Jazz Mafia's own Shotgun Wedding Quintet.
Get ready for a seamless fusion of jazz, funk, hip-hop, electronica, and more!
Featuring artists such as Dublin, Joe Bagale (vocals and arrangements), The Realistic Orchestra, The Shotgun Wedding Quintet, Jeanne Geiger (guitar/trombone and arrangements), Dave Scott, Karyn Paige, Seneca, Chris McGee, DJ Aspect McCarthy, Jon Monahan and many more.
