Run4Roseville Honors Boston Victims This Sunday At Their Annual Race

Volunteers of the Run4Roseville race are preparing for a recording breaking crowd on Sunday Morning, April 21st, at 8:30 at Maidu Community Park in Roseville.

The annual Run4Roseville offers a 5K Run and Lil' Ones 100 Meter Dash.

Nearly 2,000 runners and walkers will gather moments before the 5k race to pay tribute with a moment of silence for those impacted by bombings at the Boston Marathon earlier this week.

Roseville City School Board Member and race organizer Susan Duane has been working on this annual community event for several years and hasn't experienced this sort of outpouring of support in recent memory. "This run has always been a fan favorite, but with the heartbreaking even that transpired in Boston we've seen an increase in registrations." An avid runner, Duane instinctively knew she had an opportunity to publicly honor the victims while giving families a chance to help a local cause.

Run4Roseville is expected to raise $45,000, which will benefit the Roseville City School District Foundation. Proceeds from the family-friendly race will be a available to teachers in 18 schools for classroom use in areas such as enrichment programs and technology.

There is still limited space available for additional registrants. For more information, visit Run4Roseville.com.
