Allegiant Battle for Veterans at Del Oro High School

On January 25, the Allegiant Battle for Veterans – School Honor Tour 2013 debuts at Del Oro High School, home of the 1st Battle for Veterans Football Invitational. Del Oro High School is located at 3301 Taylor Road, in Loomis.

The year’s tour will take place at four high schools with the first two in Northern California reaching over 8,000 students this year. The 2013 Honor Tour: Del Oro High School, Lincoln High School, Oaks Christian High School and Upland High School.

Starting promptly at 9:30a.m. and working together in an all-school rally format with the Del Oro High School students, Allegiant Battle for Veterans will present a special program honoring the men and women who have served our country.

Co-Sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of California, this patriotic honor tour is open for all to attend. Everyone knows of a friend or relative who is serving or has served our country. Please invite them to join the festivities! The rally is for them. It is Del Oro's opportunity to: Honor-Invest-Connect!

The program will include:
CMDR James Bell – Keynote speaker
You might remember Commander Bell - he was the pilot of the F18 Jet which flew over Del Oro High School during the 2013 Battle for Veterans Football Invitation just after the national anthem. He will speak about honor, service and commitment.

Special guest – Wounded US Marine, Thomas Parker
LCPL Parker visited our school during the 2011 Battle for Veterans Football Invitational and inspired the crowd during a pregame speech. Thomas is making his return to Del Oro High School to speak about his recovery. Tommy is retired from the Marine Corps and today lives in a rural part of Montana. Because of snow and mud he has been falling out of his electric wheel-chair. In front of the student body, 1700 plus students will see us “surprise” Tommy with a special service wheel chair that has tank tracks so he does not slip in the mud and snow... How exciting!!!
