Volunteer Drivers Needed In The Cameron Park And Placerville Area

Do you want to make a difference?  Dedicated, caring volunteers are needed to deliver lunches weekdays and also check on the well-being of each participant of the El Dorado County Health & Human Services Home-Delivered Meals program. 

For many of the clients, the daily personal contact is as vital as the meal.  The Home-Delivered Meals program brings peace of mind to clients and their families. 

Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver meals one day per week in the Cameron Park and Placerville areas. 

Volunteers that are not available for a weekly commitment can offer their assistance as back-up drivers who fill in as needed for a regularly scheduled driver.

Senior Farmers' Market Coupon Distribution

Senior Farmers' Market Coupons are back for 2012 in El Dorado County!  Farmers' Market Coupons are available for those over 60 years of age and meeting income guidelines (one person household with annual income less than $20,665, or a two person household less than $27,991).

Each eligible senior will receive coupons redeemable for the purchase of fresh, locally grown, nutritious fruits, vegetables, cut herbs and raw unprocessed honey.

Quantities are limited and coupons are distributed on a first come, first served basis so please be prepared to wait in line. Coupons are good at all authorized Farmers' Markets.

Distribution Dates and Locations:

Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 8 am to 1pm
American Legion South Lake Tahoe Farmers' Market
2732 South Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe

Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 8 am to 12pm
Placerville Farmers' Market
Ivy House Parking Lot at the Corner of Main Street & Cedar Ravine, Placerville

Seniors may designate an individual (proxy) to receive their coupons and make purchases at the Farmers' Market on their behalf.  A proxy form needs to be completed by the eligible Senior, in advance, so that the Proxy can pick up the coupons during the distribution. Volunteer Nurse Needed for Blood Pressure Checks


A volunteer Nurse is needed to perform blood pressure checks at the Placerville Senior Center and at the Diamond Springs Lions Hall.

Blood pressure checks will be scheduled once a month from 10:30 am until noon at the Senior Nutrition site.

This could be a great opportunity for a retired RN or LVN to stay connected with the community.
