American Cancer Society Bark for Life of Rocklin

Bark For Life of Rocklin, a canine event to fight cancer, is being held at Johnson-Springview Park in Rocklin, on July 21st from 10:00 a.m. until 1p.m.

The American Cancer Society Bark For Life is a mini-fundraising event honoring the care giving qualities of our furry friends.

Our dogs are not just our pets, they are Companions, Guide Dogs, Service Dogs, Rescue Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Police Dogs, Cancer Survivor Dogs and Diagnostic Dogs, who with their humans, are joining the American Cancer Society as Relay teams.  They participate to celebrate cancer survivorship, to honor people lost to cancer, and to fund raise in support of the American Cancer Society.

Our canine "best friends" demonstrate unconditional love, security, compassion, and without judgment of cancer survivors abilities or appearances. Our canine companions leave paw prints on our hearts.

The American Cancer Society Bark For Life is an irresistible way to partner with your canine best friend, smile and make new friends – canine and human.

Save The Musical!

Rocklin High School is asking for your help! Because of budget cuts and a 20% cutback in teacher stipends, they will lose their Winter Musical program, which has been going on for 15 years.

It's been a program which has brought all the art departments together from theater to band to dance to art.

But instead of just watching the much loved program and performances slip away, the community and students are banding together to save the musical this year!

They will be hosting a benefit show tomorrow, Friday and Saturday that will feature performances by current, former and future students of Rocklin High. And what could be better than a tribute to the Beatles?

So make sure you head out and support this amazing endeavor! And even if you can't make it out check out their donation option on savethemusical.com. They need to reach $6,500 and every bit helps!

When: August 5 - 7
Where: Rocklin High
Time: 7 p.m.
Tickets: $10

Puppy Love at Woofstock!

Do you love the 60s? How about dogs?

If yes, then you had better not miss the Nor Cal Woofstock on September 13, a day just for pooches and their owners to express their inner flower child and support local canine rescue services.

And you had better set aside the whole day because there will be just too much to do. From the looks of the schedule, you and your pup will be pretty tuckered out by the end.

Just imagine…the day starts off with a delicious Pancake Breakfast at 7 a.m. Yum! Then you work off all those calories at the 3K/5K Walk/Run Team Fundraiser and finally freshen up with an Extreme Doggy Makeover.

Contests and games will be held throughout the day, and as the name implies, they are all dog themed. We at Style think you should check out the Human Barking and Mug vs. Mug Look Alike contests. Youtube anyone?

Also, be sure to dress up your pup in his or her finest poncho and beads because there will be a 60s Costume Contest.

And if one Woofstock isn’t enough for you…the event will take place again on October 4 in El Dorado Hills.

Go to woofstocknorcal.com for complete event listings and times for both events.
