It offers training and competitive opportunities for swimmers of all abilities to reach their goals. The team is dedicated to building sportsmanship, character, technique, friendships and health in an enjoyable environment.

Fundraiser for A Chance for Bliss Animal Sanctuary!

We at Style love The Doggie Bag and this Friday they are helping put on a great fundraiser to raise money and awareness for A Chance for Bliss Animal Sanctuary.

It's a wonderful organization that rescues "senior" animals as well as special needs animals and gives them a forever home at the Sanctuary.

It will be a night of fabulous food, vendors, raffle prizes, and a runway hair show.

Raffle tickets are $5. If you are unable to attend, there are other ways to help: donate items for the raffle or their wish list, sign up to be a sponsor for $10 a month, or make a donation directly.

8th Annual El Dorado Hills Art & Wine Affaire

Treat your mother to a relaxing day of art viewing and wine tasting in El Dorado Hills for Mother's Day Weekend!

Twenty premiere El Dorado wineries will be gathered along the boulevard in Town Center, offering wine samples from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. both days. More than 150 fine artists will display an array of art for sale, and live entertainment will be featured throughout the weekend.

Tasting glasses will be just $20, allowing you to sample 20 wineries during the day. Browsing and entertainment are free. Participating wineries are:

"Destruction Party" at Capitol Bowl

Capitol Bowl in West Sacramento is getting a big makeover and is inviting everyone to come for a special bowling extravaganza this Friday.

Kick off for construction will start soon and patrons are encouraged to leave special messages on a wall that will be included in the new design. How awesome is that!

Capitol Bowl has entertained the West Sacramento community since the 1950s when it was known as the El Rancho Bowl. The remodeling is taking a whole new sleek look, so it's great to see they are keeping a little nostalgia too!

The party is also a fundraiser for Special Olympics of Northern California. Capitol Bowl is located at 900 West Capitol Ave. in West Sacramento.

"Go Fly A Kite" at the Fountains

There's nothing that screams spring like a few kites flying high. And the perfect time to set them free is at the Fountains at Roseville's “Go Fly A Kite” Competition on April 23.

It's the perfect opportunity to put your skills to test!

There will be all sorts of prizes for categories including "Best Decorated”, “Most Aerodynamic” and “Best Participation by a Group." So make sure to bring out your little ones and their friends. Groups are encouraged to wear the school shirts, scout uniforms etc. If you need some tips on getting your paper and string off the ground, kite expert Anwar Khan from Old City Kites will be on hand to provide kite flying lessons and demonstrations.

And there won't just be kites... you won't want to miss the easter Bunny, music by AllStar DJ Group, line dancing with Melanie Greenwood, face painting with Mrs. McGregor and balloon twisting with Professor Mimo.

The kite fly zone is adjacent to Roseville Parkway and Reserve Drive.

Kites will also be available for $2 and the proceeds will support the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Sacramento & Northeastern California.

Roseville Firefighters BBQ and Brewfest!

Save the date for the second annual firefighters BBQ feast!

You won't want to miss the fierce firefighter Cook-off with surprise celebrity judges. There will be a large selection of beers, wine and other treats from restaurants, alehouses, pubs and wineries. 26th Mother’s Day Garden Tour

Who doesn't love some beautiful blooms? If you're looking for something just a little extra special to surprise your mother with this spring, think about some tickets to the Master Gardens Tour on Mother's Day, which features six phenomenal gardens throughout the area. This year the locations are Newcastle, Loomis, Granite Bay and Roseville.

The event is hosted by the University of California Co-operative Extension’s Placer County Master Gardeners.
