The ride is sometimes the destination.
That's the theme of a new film premiering in Roseville this weekend. Yes, that's right. "No Parking" The Movie, is a local media production completely self produced, self filmed, self marketed and self distributed.
It's a story of a real-life tragedy that ultimately turns into a triumph and celebration of friends and hope.
The plot focuses on two high school friends now in their 50's who after a series of tragedies in their lives decide to take the roadtrip they always talked about.
The film was shot on a road trip of more than 3,200 miles in a 1973 VW Bus. The scenes take you through places like Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Malibu and more.
And if you are not convinced it will be a cinema experience up to your standards, check out the great trailer and synopsis page on the film Web site. It's not everyday you get to see a heartfelt and artistic film shot in your own city.
So be sure not to miss a movie that promises to be a great ride! (And then head out for some delicious pizza at Roseville's very own Basic Urban Kitchen + Bar for the after party.)
