Swim Season Is Here!

School is almost out and that means just one thing. It's time to hit the pool!

The El Dorado Hills Community Pool is hosting a Grand Reopening on May 29. It should be a great day of events, demonstrations and of course, swimming!

There will also be information on all the summer programs available at the pool throughout the summer. So get out there and sign up early!

Demonstrations will also be going on for swim lessons, spring board diving, synchronized swimming and scuba diving.




When: May 29
Where: El Dorado Hills Community Pool, 1021 Harvard Way
Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At noon the pool will be open for free public swimming.
Why: The pool has gone amazing transformations over a five month renovation period. It has new plaster, new coping stones, new mechanical systems, new racing platforms and so much more.

El Dorado Hills Spring Art Studio Tour 2010

Forty artists invite you to visit their studios and enjoy their diverse talents. You will see painters, sculptors, jewelers, potters, photographers and mixed media artists. The tour brochure and map serves as a guide for your weekend treasure hunt where adventure, entertainment and education await you. Purchase original art for your home or office or buy a gift for that special someone.

Start your adventure at any point on the map and chart your own course. Some locations have one artist in their personal studio; other locations have two or more artists showing together. All have their own unique personality, technique and style so you won’t want to miss any of them. No two are alike.

There are 40 artists in 13 studios, eager to share their love of art with you. Talk to the artists and ask questions about how they got started and what inspires them. Artist love to share their creative process, so don’t be shy about asking questions. The studio tour provides you with the opportunity to see and purchase high quality, original art in all media, directly from the artists who create it.

The Tour brochure serves as your guide for this third annual event where you visit the intriguing world of the artists. Enjoy an entire weekend of touring the artist’s environment, their work space and seeing the equipment they use to create their art. Experience a behind the scenes preview of art in the making.

Open House for P.A.R.T.Y.!

The Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth organization has just moved to a new office, and they are having a little party to celebrate!

And they want you to come! You will be able to talk to trauma survivors, drive the interactive simulator, test your 'brain injury' writing skills and much more. P.A.R.T.Y. does lots of outreach like getting high school students involved at Folsom Mercy Hospital every first Friday of the month.

Tuesday's party is also a great opportunity for you to get involved with people in the community!

Hansel and Gretel!

With school getting ready to end, this play is the perfect way to celebrate. The Folsom Lake Civic Ballet will perform a production of Hansel and Gretel. The ballet is a play in three acts and based on the poem by Adelheid Wette. The music is by Engelbert Humperdinck ad the choreography is by Deirdre Hawkins and Erin Nobbe.

There should also be approximately 85 dancers!

It's definitely a ballet for the whole family so bring everyone and support local ballet!

When: Saturday, June 5, 2010 ~ 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010 ~ 2:00 p.m
