It is an out and back course that is part-paved, part-dirt over what was once the historic Southern Pacific Railway line.
The run consists of three course lengths: a 5K run/walk, a 10K and 10 mile run. The run will be chip timed by J & J Sports Productions. Registration is open at: jandjsportsproductions.com/events/sugarloaf-stampede.
The Sugarloaf Stampede will be a fun event for families as well as serious runners. The event will feature vendors, post-race food and drawstring tote bags for the first 250 participants. Technical t-shirts are included in the registration price of $45.00 (student registration is $35.00). Same day registration for $50.00 will be available, but there is no guarantee of shirts or bags.
Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp is supported by the Sugarloaf Station Foundation; a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Foundation that provides partial scholarships for campers.
In its 53rd year, Sugarloaf brings a unique camp experience to the students of El Dorado County. Sugarloaf is an overnight camp that runs Sunday to Saturday for both of two summer sessions where campers are given the opportunity to expand their fine arts skills and to experiment with new ones. The camp takes place at the beautiful Sly Park Environmental Education Center in Pollock Pines, California, and is administered by the El Dorado County Office of Education.
Camp staff includes many El Dorado County teachers and Sugarloaf alumni. Eligible campers must have completed fifth grade and not yet completed twelfth grade by July of the year of camp.
For more information about the Sugarloaf Stampede, contact the El Dorado County Office of Education Personnel Services Department at (530) 295-2250.
