Crocker Art Museum Hosts Annual Art Auction

The Crocker Art Museum will host the 35th annual Art Auction on Saturday, June 1, at 5:30 p.m.

One of the preeminent auctions of the region, this artful evening features work by more than 120 of the region’s most renowned artists.

The evening will kick off with a silent auction followed by a gourmet dinner catered by Supper Club at the Crocker and an exciting live auction. Alissa Ford of Heritage Auctions will return as the master auctioneer. Works of art in the silent and live auctions will are on display at crockerartmuseum.org/auction, and will be in the Museum beginning May 18.

This event is preceded by Big Names, Small Art on May 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. Both events comprise the 2013 Art Auction Season at the Crocker. Chair for the Art Auction Season is Paulette Trainor and Chair-elect is Michelle Sekula. Proceeds from these events support the exhibitions and education programs of the Crocker. General tickets for Art Auction are $150 per person. Patron tickets are $300.

Art Auction Season is sponsored by Genovese Burford and Brothers in partnership with River City Bank. The Crocker Art Museum was the first art museum in the Western U.S. and is one of the leading art museums in California today. Established in 1885, the Museum features one of the country’s finest collections of Californian art, exceptional holdings of master drawings, a comprehensive collection of international ceramics, as well as European, Asian, African and Oceanic art.

The Crocker is located at 216 O Street in Downtown Sacramento. Museum hours are 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Tuesday–Sunday; 10 a.m.–9 p.m., Thursdays. Support Folsom Lake College Student Art Events

The community is invited to attend a series of arts events presented by Folsom Lake College’s Art, Music, Dance and English Departments.
Most events will be held at the Harris Center for the Arts/Three Stages on Folsom Lake College’s main campus (10 College Parkway in Folsom).

Annual Student Art Show
Through Sunday, May 12, Harris Center for the Arts/Three Stages, Bank of America Gallery. Admission is free (on weekdays, a $1 parking permit is required). The Gallery hours to view the show are: Tuesdays thru Thursdays- 10a.m.-2p.m., and one hour prior to public performances.

Falcon's Eye Theatre presents Treasure Island
Through Sunday, May 5, Harris Center for the Arts/Three Stages, Stage 2/City Studio Theater, Fridays and Saturdays at 8p.m., Sundays at 2p.m.. Tickets are $10 for students and seniors and $15 general admission.

Evening of Dance: MOSAIC Dance Company
Thursday, May 2, 6-8p.m., Harris Center for the Arts/Three Stages, Stage 1. Tickets are $8-$12.

FLC Youth Chamber Orchestra
Monday, May 13, 7pm, Harris Center for the Arts/Three Stages, Stage 1. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors and $15 general admission.

Falcon Scratch Literary Magazine Release Party
Wednesday, May 15, 6-7:30p.m., Folsom campus, Reading and Writing Center (Cypress Hall room FL2-239). Admission is free.

Music Department: Stravinsky Festival
Thursday, May 16, 8p.m., Harris Center for the Arts/Three Stages, Stage 1. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors and $10 general admission.

Roseville High School Dance Presents Dancin’ Feet, Feat, Fete 2013!

This incredible show will be performed at the Patti Baker Performing Arts Theater at Roseville High School.

“So entertaining!  I can't believe the number of kids in this program!  How do you manage this large of a production?”  These are the comments audience members share after viewing Roseville High School Dancin' Feet shows. Year after year.....sold out shows!

The 275 dancers are enrolled in beginning, choreography and advanced dance classes at Roseville High School present a show full of sights, sounds and excitement from a variety of different genres. 

The dance program at Roseville High School is known for its high level of skill and enthusiastic performers. Program/Artistic DirectorsSally Cofield and Pilar Steiner develop a show that is fun for all age groups as well as highly entertaining. Audience members are guaranteed a variety of dance forms:  Tap, clogging, varied cultural, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, character/ theatrical and hip hop.

Spring 2013 Show Dates:
May 23, 24 @ 7p.m.
May 25 @ 2p.m. and 7p.m.

10th Annual El Dorado Hills Art and Wine Affaire Mother's Day Weekend

The 10th Annual El Dorado Hills Art and Wine Affaire will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 11th and 12th, from 11a.m. – 5p.m., over Mother's Day Weekend.

The event will be held at the El Dorado Hills Town Center; parking at Blue Shield. 

The Art and Wine Affaire will feature over 100 Fine Artists and 20 El Dorado County Wineries in addition to live entertainment both days in the Steven Young Amphitheater.   Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, Over the Edge and Apple Z will all be performing. Pouring will be from noon-4:30p.m., tasting is $25 for one day. 

This is sure to be a great day for the whole family! The Affaire Benefits the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce, El Dorado Arts Council and the El Dorado Hills Optimist Club.

Folsom Home Show This Saturday!

2nd Annual Open Barn Event At Wind Song Animal Sanctuary

Wind Song is planning its second Open Barn Event & Tack Sale, to be held at their sanctuary in Lincoln on Saturday, May 4th, from 10a.m.-3p.m.

Bring the kids and wear comfortable shoes!  Meet Homer Le Porc and all his fine swine friends. Refreshments will be provided!

Come and see all the wonderful animals and how Wind Song continues to help support so many animals in need.

View the tack Wind Song has for sale, and if you would like to donate any of your used tack, they will be happy to receive it as well!
