There's no reason to wait until Halloween to jump out of your skin. Plus, y0u'll know that your spine-tingling adventure will support Hands4Hope, Youth Making a Difference ! It's completely safe and great for all ages.

We at Style love a good scare every now and then and will definitely be checking out this to-be annual event.

COST: $8 per person

Plus, get $2 off admission (on Thursdays) when you donate two cans of food and a new pair of gloves or beanie.

Saturdays - Oct. 16, 8-10 p.m.

Hands4Hope, is a non-profit, non-denominational, youth driven outreach organization based in El Dorado Hills and was founded in February 2008. The organization's mission is to grow the next generation of socially responsible citizens by engaging youth in community outreach.

Renaissance Faire in Folsom This Weekend!

Don't miss the magic and merriment taking over Folsom this weekend.

Expect music, dancing, jesters, staged battles, storytelling, archery, jousting and every Shakespearean entertainment imaginable.

That's right... it's the Renaissance Faire in the City of Folsom.

You'll be able to shop over 100 merchants with a wide array of arts and crafts including jewelry, woodcraft, artwork, ceramics, clothing and historic weapons and leather goods.

If you've never experienced a Renaissance faire, you are definitely missing out. There are some fabulous performances including the Merry Praynksters and the ottoman trading dancers. Be prepared to be transported to a whole different time and place!

Some of the proceeds will benefit The Friends of Folsom Public Library, The Folsom CAVE Teen Centers and The Folsom Rotary Club.

Tickets available at the gate:
Adults - $14
Seniors (55+) & for children 6-12 - $9
Under six is free.

Poetry Reading and Spotlight Night



Folsom Lake College is hosting two upcoming events for the community. Join local poets and poetry enthusiasts for a special poetry reading on October 19. Area poets Lawrence Dinkins & Dorine Jennette will appear for the event, which is part of the Sacramento Poetry Center’s 2nd Annual “Confluence of Poets.”

TIME: 12 - 1 p.m.

And...thinking about taking some classes this Spring?
The college is also hosting a community night open house on October 28. It's a great chance for anyone interested in taking classes or anyone who wants to learn more about the college.
