Auditions for Wilder's "Skin of Our Teeth"

Break a leg. And that's means you! The Falcon's Eye Theatre at Folsom Lake College is making a call to actors from the community to audition for its spring production of "The Skin of Our Teeth," Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning comic allegory.

If you haven't seen the play, it's a satiric fantasy revolving around the Antrobus family. It charts the trivals and times they endure through "The War," surviving flood, fire, pestilence, locusts, ice age, the pox, and the double feature, and through a dozen subsequent wars and as many depressions. Ultimately, they are the stuff of which heroes and fools are made. Their survival is a theatrical testament of faith in humanity.

It's such a great chance whether you have been looking to get involved and were afraid to make your first step on the stage or if you are a seasoned pro!

Plus, it's a Thorton Wilder and Pulitzer-winning play no less! You can't miss.

Date: Monday, January 31, 7p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

Location: Auditions will take place on the Folsom campus of Folsom Lake College, 10 College Parkway (off E. Bidwell St.), Folsom, 95630 in the Community Room (Aspen Hall room FL1-20). The Community Room is located near the south entrance of campus, on the southwest corner of Aspen Hall/FL1. $1 parking permits are available at kiosks located throughout the parking lots. For a map with directions, please go to www.flc.losrios.edu and click on “Maps” and then “Main Folsom campus.”
(All the important details!) Those auditioning MUST prepare a monologue that is no more than 90-seconds-long from any stage play. This monologue should best portray the actor's strengths and can be of any genre, but must be from a play written for the stage. This monologue must be memorized. Those who are called back will also be asked to audition by way of cold readings from the text. Auditions are expected to run until approximately 10pm. It is requested that you bring an 8x10 photo-headshot and resume or acting experience, if available not required.

Callbacks: February 1 - 2, 7pm by invitation only.

Rehearsal Dates: February 7 - March 24, evenings and some weekend afternoons.

Performance Dates: March 25 - April 5, Fridays and Saturdays at 8p.m. and Sundays at 2p.m.

(Additional performances are Saturday, April 3 at 2pm and Thursday, April 7 at 8pm. All performances are held at Three Stages at Folsom Lake College in the City Studio/Stage Two.

Call (916) 608-6800 or go to falconseyetheatre.com for more information.
