Winter Music Festival Benefiting The Gathering Inn and Gold Country Wildlife Rescue

The 2nd annual charity event benefiting The Gathering Inn and Gold Country Wildlife Rescue will be held on Saturday, December 8th. This event will be held at the Blue Goose Event Center, 3350 Taylor Road, in Loomis. Doors open at 6p.m., and the show is from 6:30 to 11p.m.

Tickets are $25.00, and kids under 10 get in free! This is a family friendly event. Tickets to the event can be purchased at bethechange.cc/tickets.html, or by purchasing event tickets at The Blue Goose Produce Store prior to the event.

Opening the show are special guests that have been rescued by Gold Country Wildlife that include Owls, Falcons, Hawks and a magnificent Bald Eagle. This is an educational show that allows you to get up close and personal with these amazing birds. If you have children, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to learn about these amazing creatures, and how they have to adapt to life with us.

The music line-up is one that you will not want to miss! The bands performing are headliners in their own right, and the All-Star Grand Finale is one that will go down in history. First up is the nationally renowned “Garratt Wilkin and the Naked Parrots,” an acoustical version of “Garrett Wilkin and The Parrott Heads” with all the main members. “Garratt Wilkin and the Parrot Heads“ is the number one Jimmy Buffett tribute band in the United States and is a fantastic show.

Next up is the “Mr. December Band”, a hard-hitting local blues band with powerful original material founded by Jimmy Papastathis and Dana Moret. Dana’s vocals have been compared to greats that include Janis Joplin and Lucinda Williams. This is one band that will have you on your feet.

Closing the night is an All-Star Grand Finale performance with a line-up of world-class musicians that include Steve Price and Larry Antonino of “Pablo Cruise”; Frank Hannon of “TESLA”; Randy Scoles of “Ronnie Montrose Band”; Jimmy Papastathis and Dana Moret of “Mr. December”; John Morris of “Gamma”; Garrett Wilkin, Dean Everett, Rick Turnage and Ellen Range of “The Parrott Heads”.

This performance will include a special tribute to Trans-Siberian Orchestra for some real big hair Christmas Rock & Roll!

There will be food by Billie Bones BBQ, soft drinks, beer, wine and cocktails for purchase, fabulous raffle items that will make wonderful holiday presents, and an autographed Guitar auction.

A Fender Squire-Strat Guitar with amp and stand has been autographed by The Doobie Brothers, Michael McDonald, Buddy Guy, all members of WAR and The Turtles.  This same guitar (and 15 others like it) sold at auction for $7,500.00 at The B.R Cohn Fall Music Festival in October of this year.

There are many ways you can help these very honorable organizations that use 100% of all donations directly to help homeless families and help save the lives of helpless animals.  By supporting this event, you are allowing these organizations to sustain operations in these challenging times.

With more and more people finding themselves on the street these days, it is easy to overlook how blessed we are. Both The Gathering Inn and Gold Country Wildlife Rescue work tirelessly everyday. These charities are not government funded, they rely on the generosity of all of us to make their work possible.
