Celebrate Roseville's Holiday Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting this Weekend

The 51st Annual Sylvia Besana Holiday Parade is this weekend! 

Come celebrate with the City of Roseville on Saturday, November 17 at 3 p.m., at the annual Holiday Parade. Bring your family and friends to stake out your favorite viewing area along the parade route which begins at the Vernon - Riverside - Douglas intersection, proceeds east along Vernon Street, turns right at Folsom Road and ends behind Roseville Square Shopping Center. This event is sponsored by the Roseville Chamber of Commerce.

Following the holiday parade, join them at the Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration. Mayor Pauline Roccucci and friends will flip the switch to light the tree at 6:30 p.m. Shortly after the tree is lit, they are expecting a visit from Santa Claus in the Civic Center lobby. Be sure to bring your camera! The evening's festivities also include crafts, cookie decorating and musical entertainment.

Palladio Announces Kwirkworld Grand Opening, See's Candies and Holiday Festivities

Palladio is gearing up for the holidays with Grand Openings and Holiday Festivities!

See’s Candies is now open at Palladio at Broadstone.

For fun holiday party needs, Kwirkworld is opening Thursday, November 15th at 10a.m. Kwirkworld is an urban gift store from Fresno. They carry specialty items from Hello Kitty, apparel and fun party, novelty and gift items. This is Kwirkworld’s third location.

Sports Authority, White House Black Market and Charlotte Russe will be opening at midnight on Black Friday to start off the shopping holiday. All other Palladio retail locations will open at 6a.m.

Thursday, November 29th from 7p.m-8p.m, Tree Lighting Festivities will be happening at Palladio in Folsom. Emcee’d by Santa and Channel 13’s Christina Anderson. Free refreshments will be served in the Piazza. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Folsom Jazz Choir and Folsom Middle School Orchestra. Catch Santa’s arrival via horse drawn carriage to assist in lighting the tree.

On Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd from 1p.m-4p.m, here are the Holiday Festivities  in the Piazza:
- Free Horse Drawn Carriage Rides with Santa
- Free Face Painting
- Free Balloon Twister
- Free Ornament Decorating
- Musical Entertainment by Folsom Middle School Orchestra and Sutter Middle School Orchestra

On Saturdays and Sundays in December through December 22nd, 1p.m-4p.m., Palladio is offering free horse drawn carriage rides with Santa in the Piazza.

Holiday Spirit Abounds at El Dorado Hills Town Center

In the next couple of weeks you will see El Dorado Hills Town Center transform into a holiday wonderland with lights, holiday wreaths and more. November is just the start to a fabulous holiday event season at Town Center. Here’s what’s coming in November. 

Photo Op with Santa Claus
Starting November 23rd and running through Christmas Eve, Santa Claus will be spending time at El Dorado Hills Town Center spreading holiday cheer. Families are invited to visit with Santa to share wish lists and to take a picture with Santa, with photo packages starting at $12.99.  Meet Santa at the California Welcome Center on Post Street next to Cold Stone Creamery. Holiday Tree Lighting
Nothing kicks off the season better than a holiday tree lighting.  On November 24th, El Dorado Hills Town Center will host their 48th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting in partnership with the EL Dorado Hills Chamber and Community Services District.  The event kicks off with a merchant open house starting at 4:00 p.m., and the first 100 kids to arrive will be invited to play the “Stuff Your Stocking” game. Radio Disney will be on hand hosting the Rockin’ Road Show from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., and to top things off, Santa will arrive on his traditional El Dorado Hills fire truck to light the tree with his magic glitter.  Ceremony time is from 6:30-7 p.m.  There will be kettle korn, face painting, cookies, hot chocolate and candy canes galore! Guests are encouraged to bring a camera to this very popular community event, don’t miss it!

Steve Wallen Swim School Collecting Donations for Local Food Banks

Steve Wallen Swim School, Inc. is proud to announce their very first charity drive!

With a lot of thought and care, Steve Wallen has decided to direct their donations to the Food Bank of El Dorado County and Twin Lakes Food Bank of Folsom.  More than 40 local emergency food response sites, including battered women’s shelters, senior centers, local food pantries, under privileged youth programs, youth shelters, soup kitchens and maternity homes rely on daily assistance from the Food Bank of El Dorado County and the Twin Lakes Food Bank.

They have set up bins at their facility as the "Drop-Off Point" for canned foods and non-perishable goods, gently used clothes and unused toys. This charitable drive runs through December 16th.  This event is open to everyone and they encourage you to spread the word!

As an incentive to help collect a bountiful amount of goods to donate, and as a big ‘Thank You,’ they are pleased to offer a raffle ticket drawing with fantastic prizes to five winners! They are offering one raffle ticket for every five items donated. Five raffle tickets will be drawn at random and awarded on or by December 20. The top prize will be a $100 gift certificate to the SWSS. The second prize is a $50 gift certificate with a third winner earning a $25 gift certificate.  The fourth place winner will receive a SWSS t-shirt and the fifth place winner will be given a new pair of goggles.

The “Drop Off Point” will be at Steve Wallen Swim School, 1230 Glenhaven Court, Suite 210, in El Dorado Hills. Donations will be accepted between 9a.m.-8p.m., Monday through Thursday, and Sunday, 9a.m.-1p.m. For additional drop off hours, please contact SWSS at (916) 939-7075.
