Crocker Art Museum Hosts Annual Art Auction

The Crocker Art Museum will host the 35th annual Art Auction on Saturday, June 1, at 5:30 p.m.

One of the preeminent auctions of the region, this artful evening features work by more than 120 of the region’s most renowned artists.

The evening will kick off with a silent auction followed by a gourmet dinner catered by Supper Club at the Crocker and an exciting live auction. Alissa Ford of Heritage Auctions will return as the master auctioneer. Works of art in the silent and live auctions will are on display at crockerartmuseum.org/auction, and will be in the Museum beginning May 18.

This event is preceded by Big Names, Small Art on May 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. Both events comprise the 2013 Art Auction Season at the Crocker. Chair for the Art Auction Season is Paulette Trainor and Chair-elect is Michelle Sekula. Proceeds from these events support the exhibitions and education programs of the Crocker. General tickets for Art Auction are $150 per person. Patron tickets are $300.

Art Auction Season is sponsored by Genovese Burford and Brothers in partnership with River City Bank. The Crocker Art Museum was the first art museum in the Western U.S. and is one of the leading art museums in California today. Established in 1885, the Museum features one of the country’s finest collections of Californian art, exceptional holdings of master drawings, a comprehensive collection of international ceramics, as well as European, Asian, African and Oceanic art.

The Crocker is located at 216 O Street in Downtown Sacramento. Museum hours are 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Tuesday–Sunday; 10 a.m.–9 p.m., Thursdays.
