There are local public heroes all around us, and we at Style love when the community comes together to honor them.
So mark your calendars on August 29 for an event well worth your time, the Grand Opening of the Deputy Jeff Mitchell Field and Public Service Memorial.
The newly renovated Little League field is located at 831 Redwood Lane, near Bertelsen Park and Brooks Elementary School in El Dorado Hills.
On October 27, 2006 Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Mitchell's life was taken while on duty. The new memorial and ballpark will honor him and other public service heroes.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
