Historical Marker Dedication Ceromony at the Fausel House in Placerville

You are invited to join the El Dorado Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution as they celebrate the placement of a historic marker on the Fausel House on June 14, 2012.

The Fausel House was established in 1861. German Pioneer Frederick Geibenhain built this house.  His Geibenhain and Sons Brewery was located west of here. In 1902, his daughter Mary married Emil Fausel. The Fausel family ran the brewery until prohibition shut down operations in 1920. However, they continued to own and occupy the house.  Members of the Fausel family still live in Placerville and own the Placerville Hardware store, the oldest hardware store west of the Mississippi.
