Sacramento Museums Special Summertime Evening Events

In addition to its fascinating Gold Rush past, the Sacramento area is rich with an amazing array of state-of-the-art museums and historic sites that offer visitors the chance to explore California's fine art, history, science and wildlife treasures all year long.

In July, many of the 29 members of Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM) are proud to showcase a variety of special evening events geared primarily for adults, including:

Starry Nights at the Crocker Art Museum - July 5
On the first Thursday evening of the month through September, the Crocker will screen classic and contemporary films in the E. Kendell Davis Courtyard and will feature "Casablanca" on July 5. Activities begin at 7:30 p.m., and the courtyard screening is at 8:30 p.m. For those who would like to picnic in the evening breeze, seasonal fare and movie treats can be purchased at the new Crocker Cafe by Supper Club. Underground Adult Evening Tours at the Sacramento History Museum - July 12 & 26
The Sacramento History Museum is proud to offer a series of special "adults only" Old Sacramento Underground tours this summer. Entertaining and knowledgeable guides will lead tour guests on one-and-a-half-hour evening walking tours that explore some of the dark secrets and racy tales lurking in Old Sacramento's underground history. Beer, Babes and Brawls at the Sacramento Old City Cemetery - July 13
It's an adult evening of beer, wine, live entertainment and listening to stories of early Sacramentans with checkered pasts. Guests will stroll through the Old City Cemetery while meeting these colorful individuals. Each participant will receive two beverage tickets upon admission which can be redeemed for a glass of wine, beer or soda in the saloon. For more, visit oldcitycemetery.com.
