Frequently Asked Questions:
Can kids participate?
Yes, this is a family-friendly event, just make sure everyone who’s participating has their glow on!
Can I push a stroller?
Yes! Deck out your ride – add lights and bling it up!
Can dogs participate?
Yes, but for everyone’s safety – including your dog’s – please start at the back of the pack. And make sure your four-legged friend is safely attached to a leash at all times — with some doggy glow, too!
What should I wear?
Bright colors, glow paint, glow sticks, neon bracelets, necklaces, neon tights... whatever makes you happy and helps you show your glow! Glowing costumes are encouraged. (Don’t forget your running shoes!)
What is the Glow Run route?
The start and finish of the Glow Run take place in Folsom’s Historic District. The route is an approximate 4K — a 2.5-mile course that’s mostly flat, and very doable for everyone, from walkers to runners.
You’ll start on Sutter Street following the glowing trail over the Truss Bridge, to Negro Bar State Park, and return on the path that will lead you to the Lake Natoma Crossing and back to Sutter Street and the finish.
What time should I get there?
On-site registration and packet pick-up begins at 4 p.m. (the run begins at 7:45 p.m.) Check in and get your bib number and your goodies. Rock out to the DJ while you check out all the great costumes and wait for the run to begin. They’ll let you know when to head to the start line, then get ready to run, hop, skip or walk in the dark and show your glow to light up the night in Folsom!
Where do I park?
There’s abundant free public parking in Folsom’s Historic District, including the parking structure on the corner of Reading and Leidesdorf streets as well as multiple surface lots. Please note that Sutter Street will remain open to traffic until just prior to the race start.
