Tackle Hunger Tonight At Oak Ridge High School

Tonight at  Oak Ridge High school the community will come together for one common cause “local hunger”.

The theme at the schools second football game will be “Tackle Hunger” and throughout the night the community will be brought up to speed on local hunger, its causes and consequences in the community and how they can help.

Oak Ridge has committed students and staff that truly care about our neighbors that struggle daily to make ends meet.  The junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders will all participate.

“It is great to see our Oak Ridge students coming together to raise awareness about hunger in our county and to support the fantastic efforts of the Food Bank of El Dorado County.  We are looking forward to an exciting evening at our Tackle Hunger football game,” said Paul Burke, ORHS Principal.

Rolling Hills Christian Church has been key in helping organize the annual event.  Staff and volunteers have assisted in the preparation of prior to and organization for the night of the big event.

“God has a great big heart for people in need and so does Rolling Hills Christian Church. Tackle Hunger gives us a chance to partner with two great organizations, Food Bank of El Dorado County and Oak Ridge High School, to show this community God's great love,Bill Search, Senior Pastor, Rolling Hills Christian Church.

So come on out tonight, enjoy a good game between our own Oak Ridge Trojans and the Rocklin Thunder and as a family learn about how you can get involved in the fight to end local hunger right here in our own backyards! Let’s work together and make a difference in the lives of local children, senior citizens and families that struggle to put healthy food on the table!
