What:
Get ready for the third annual breast cancer awareness event at Del Oro High School! Complete with nearly 1,200 enthusiastic high school students wearing pink “Tackle for the Cure” t-shirts to help raise awareness for breast cancer, Del Oro High School will hold a spirited rally on the Friday morning in addition to special activities -- including a visual balloon release for survivors and those who lost their battle to the disease -- at the Friday night football game. All week students can donate money, buy raffle tickets and buy t-shirts with all proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. At the Friday night football game, there will be a “survivors booth,” face painting and more. At the half time of the game, one player will receive a “Best Tackle Award” in honor of the special breast cancer awareness effort.
