While we all are increasingly more dependent on up-to-the-minute news, there is a dying breed of art that has resulted from the current technology age of Twitter, Blackberries and the Internet.
Former artist from the Sacramento Bee, Charles Waltmire will show a fifteen year retrospective of his cover art for the award-wining newspaper. Illustrating memorable news articles in regional, national and international news with his breathtakingly realistic paintings of celebrities, political figures and national events his work has been widely recognized.

In a companion exhibit at the gallery, Ms. Fulk will show her whimsical character sketches along with notable courtroom art by Vicki Behringer. Famous national courtroom trials such as those of Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson, and Barry Bonds, to name a few, will be highlighted.

No one should miss this important art exhibit at the Gallery at 48 Natoma this spring - it might be your last chance to see this remarkable form of art.
The opening reception for both exhibits is Friday, March 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will include live music by the multi-talented Charles Waltmire’s own band, Garageland Rodeo (he also plays the drums). Wine and refreshments will be sponsored by the Folsom Patrons of the Arts.
The artists’ reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public and art is available for purchase.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with additional hours on some week nights and Saturdays. Please call the gallery for holiday, evening and weekend hours. Special group and free school tours can be arranged by appointment.
