Placer SPCA Seeking Nominations For Their 2014 Hero Awards

Placer SPCA is seeking nominations for the 2014 Hero Awards, to be presented at the 13th annual Funny Bones Comedy and Awards Night on Friday, April 25.

Do you know a person, animal, organization or business in Placer County that has gone above and beyond to demonstrate how strong the human-animal bond can be? Nominate them for a Placer SPCA Hero Award! Placer SPCA wants to recognize those individuals for their heartfelt and courageous efforts.

Nomination forms and event tickets are available at placerspca.org/funnybones2014.

Previous years’ heroes included three young boys who found a missing cat caught in a storm drain, a service dog that senses and alerts her family to changes in a diabetic teen’s blood sugar levels, and two utility workers who rescued a dog from imminent danger of drowning.

Funny Bones includes a comedy show, full dinner, silent and live auctions, and the Hero Awards presentation.

Those interested in attending Funny Bones are encouraged to act quickly, as tickets typically sell out prior to the event. Individual tickets can be purchased for $75 if purchased by March 31, or $100 if purchased after April 1. This year’s event will be held at the Timber Creek Ballroom at Sun City, Roseville (7050 Del Webb Blvd., Roseville) on Friday, April 25 from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.

All proceeds from the event benefit Placer SPCA, an independent local nonprofit organization.  Sponsorships are available. For more information, please contact the Fund Development department at (916) 782-7722 or (530) 885-7387, ext. 102 or visit placerspca.org.
